WWW Wednesdays

Now this is the perfect link party for me! Thanks to Kate at http://cupcakequeen16.blogspot.com/ I have learned about at http://shouldbereading.wordpress.com/ This is exciting! I love to read! I am a reading teacher! I am a literacy volunteer! So here we go!
“What are you currently reading?” I am currently reading The Twelfth Angel by Og Mandino, The Power of Now by Eckhart Tolle and Where Women Cook by Jo Packham. I am never reading just one book at a time.

“What did you currently finish reading?” I currently finished reading One Perfect Word by Debbie Macomber and Handbook for the Spirit by Richard Carlson. Debbie’s book One Perfect Word is about focusing on one word for one year. Debbie’s experience has been that by doing this her life has been changed. I’m giving it a try this year. Handbook for the Soul is a collection of writings by some wonderful spiritual teachers. Some of the writers are Mother Teresa, Thich Nhat Hanh, and Sue Bender.

“What do you think  you’ll read next?” Next, I plan to read Bounce by Matthew Syed. My sister sent me this book because she thought, that as a teacher, I would like it.

Happy Reading!

Park Avenue Ruffles

Hi, Friends!
As some of you know, I attended Vogue Knitting Live back in January. Attending Vogue Knitting Live is one of the highlights of my year! This year I visited a booth from www.blacksheepandewe.com. At this booth I purchased the yarn and pattern to make this scarf.

They call this “The Park Avenue Luxury Ruffle.” I wish you could feel how soft it is. It feels so good around my neck, and it keeps me so warm.

And if I want to wear it just as an accessory, I can wear it this way.

It looks like this from the back.
If you are a knitter here’s a big secret: this was the quickest and easiest scarf I ever knit. You can make it in just an evening or two. It’s was so simple, I felt like I was cheating. But it looks like it was really hard. Doesn’t it? This is a scarf I could make for every girl on my Christmas list. Hmmm, that’s not a bad idea. Smile
Happy Creating!

Sharing the Loves of My Life

Happy Pink Saturday! For once, I am actually posting on a Saturday. I always seem to wait until the last minute on Sunday.

Beverly asked us to post what we love. So here is what I love, love, love!

DSC00716

My family! First, is my husband, Gary. The tall guy in the back. We have been happily married for 30 years! He is the best husband in the world. Then there are my beautiful children. In the back, next to my husband, is my son Rick. In front of Rick is Meredith. That’s Shannon with the dark hair in the middle. Last but not least, the pretty red head is Tracy. That’s me on the left, the shortest one.

My husband and I were married for seven years before God blessed us with children. God’s plan was a little different from ours. It usually is, isn’t it? We were praying for one baby, but God gave us FOUR.

Yep, all four at once! Three pink, one blue. God does bless abundantly!

I never, in my wildest dreams, could have dreamed this, but I thank God everyday for my children. Okay, there were some days and sleepless nights when I said, “Really, God?”

They were born six weeks premature. Rick had a few health problems, but he is fine now. God blessed us with an amazing family that was there to help us and relieve us.

When Beverly said, “The only requirement is sharing your love,” I knew immediately what I wanted to share.

These four kids have my unconditional love. I love them, and I look forward to the abundant amount of love to continue as they get married and have families of their own.
