The Lemonade Blanket Project

Are you a knitter or crocheter? Do you sew or quilt? Do you know someone who knits, crochets, sews or quilts?

Please consider making a blanket for The Lemonade Blanket Project. The Lemonade Blanket Project collects handmade blankets to be given to Alex’s Lemonade Stand Foundation. (www.alexslemonade.com) The foundation distributes the blankets to children who have been impacted by childhood cancer.

If you do not knit or crochet would you please pass the word about this project? The goal of The Lemonade Blanket Project is to provide at least fifty blankets a year to Alex’s Lemonade Stand Foundation. If we receive more than fifty the Foundation will distribute the blankets to children’s hospitals.

The Lemonade Project

Have you heard of Alex’s Lemonade Stand Foundation?

Alex was a beautiful little girl who had cancer. At the tender age of four, Alex came up with the idea to have a lemonade stand to raise money for the hospital so they could find a cure. You can read this amazing story in the beautiful children’s book Alex and the Amazing Lemonade Stand.

You can listen to the book being read by my friend Tracy here.

Alex and the Amazing Lemonade Stand

This year my fifth grade students held a fundraiser for Alex’s Lemonade Stand Foundation. My students raised $4,865.00 for the foundation! I am so proud of them!
If you would like to have a fundraiser for Alex’s Lemonade Stand Foundation or to make a donation go to www.alexslemonade.org and you will see a variety of fundraising ideas.
Alex was an amazing little girl. The words in the book on page 29 are, “You see, Alex lived by the words from which her foundation was laid . . . when life give you lemons, just make lemonade.”
